From Neil

Founder, Neil O'Hare Security Consulting

My professional focus shifted back to security as my son approached school age. I re-immersed myself in the industry, driven with a deep commitment to the safety of students, congregants, patrons, and employees. Now my work is dedicated to strengthening people, protocols, and technology through bespoke vulnerability assessments and actionable plans. I provide leadership teams, staff, and security personnel with the essential knowledge and tools needed to confidently navigate emergencies and ensure the well-being of their communities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our security and vulnerability assessment process

How long does an assessment take?

Typical timeline is 3–6 weeks end-to-end, including 4+ days on-site. I start with a comprehensive 300+ question pre-site questionnaire, followed by intensive on-site evaluation, analysis, and final briefing.

What do we receive at the end?

An evidence-backed report with analyzed responses to all 300 questions, aligned to on-site and interview findings, plus a leadership briefing. Optional ongoing consulting and implementation support.

Will recommendations fit our budget?

Yes. I provide 'good / better / best' options with cost ranges and impact analysis, so you can prioritize improvements based on your available resources.

Do you provide threat assessment services?

I do not provide behavioral threat assessment services. For active and past clients I can recommend qualified threat assessment practitioners for specific situations.

What makes your approach different?

My approach is collaborative. It combines data with insights from members of your organization and your community partners.

Do you work with public schools?

Our focus is on private and independent schools, where I understand the unique governance, funding, and cultural considerations that affect security planning.
